S4. Care for younger children: Organise a series of games or activities for younger siblings or neighbors or teach them a dance or instrument
On Monday the 20th of May after school I went to my dad's friends house to teach his eight year old daughter Erina a computer game called Minecraft. Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night zombies, huge spiders, Skeletons and Creepers come out, so you have to make sure to build a shelter before that happens. This is no easy challenge and you need to use all sorts of skills to survive. Erina was wanting to learn as much as she could about playing the game so she could get better and be able to move up the levels in the game.
Erina knew a little bit about the game but she didn't know all the little tips and tricks to making things easier. Over two hours I showed her how to get the items to craft the tools that you need to survive, how to build safer homes and better designs for homes, and how to connect certain blocks using redstone to make wonderful contraptions like traps secrete doors and even songs. Erina had created an olympic arena which was very basic she was now able to improve on this after I've helped her.
At the end of the two hours Erina was having a great time creating and improving the worlds she had created. When she is ready to start to build more advanced creations I have said that I would go back to show her more. This is likely to be in the next couple of weeks.
