A Bad Product or Service

Mac Donalds

When I was around eight me and my Dad were going though the drive through at Maca's for dinner, I had ordered a cheese burger without pickle, onion and add bacon and what I received was a cheese burger with a under sized patty, pickle, onion, mayo and the blackest bacon you would ever see, and most importantly no tomato sauce. Sadly I didn't get a refund cause we were at home by the time I had noticed this. Now every time we go through the drive though we check our order and check in the bag.

Captcha

Most of you people out there have probably done a Captcha before maybe even more than 50 times so you may think you know what it is, a pain. But you are wrong what you are acutely doing is helping the world. Back in the old days most of the books were hand written as the technology we have today was around back in those days, so now days with our kindles and the Ibook app the old books that were hand written can't be converted onto these. So what Captcha does is it makes you do it for the world by putting a word that the computer can't read onto a Captcha and making you type what it is, but thats no the only thing Captcha does it stops programs from spamming your website, blog and other things like that. So you see it may be a pain but your helping the world and how many days would you get to save the world.

This game is based area where you have to tilt your Ipod / Iphone to one of the, sort of like flying tramplings that you angle you player to them so you get propelled upwards, you repete this process to get higher and get a better score. But as you get higher some strange creatures start to appear things like U.F.O.S, monsters, huge bats and some times black holes.

The game is available on App Store for $1.29, with buying the game you get access to all the different themes and are available to go to no hight limit, think buying this game is an important thing to do if you want a good game that will challenge you skills.

My Dads Job

My Dad works for a company called M.A.F which stands for Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's but I just call it M.A.F.  He pretty much checks if people are bringing ilegal things into the country like drugs, plants, insects, all sorts of things.

Some times if hes lucky hes gets to go overseas with his job to places like America, Japan, Australia and even Dubai, I think hes pretty lucky to do this on a regular basis. Somes times if im lucky he brings me weird and strange things that you can only get in those countries, like when I was about five he brought me home a Mac Donalds toy but it was way cooler than the ones when get here.

Short Funny Stories

This is the story about the man from Parau, he had a dream about eating his shoe he awoke to see his dream come true and that was the man from Parau.

Johnny the penguin used to love it in the Arctic, that was before it melted.

All the children loved Paul the Liberian, that was before he went blind.

A curious child asked his mother, “Mommy, why are some of your hairs turning grey?". The mother tried to use this occasion to teach her child, “It is because of you, dear. Every bad action of yours will turn one of my hairs grey!”. The child replied, “Now I know why grandmother has only grey hairs on her head.”

My Weekend

My weekend had a pretty ruff start with heading to the chiropractors on friday cause of a really bad head ache I had, at the chiropractors one of the things I remember the lady saying was "oh you've been having a lot of pop corn haven't you?" when she was clicking by bones. So that was a pretty soar start to the weekend. When the lady was finished with me she talked to my Mum gave her some medic and then we left.

When I got home the first thing I did was sit down on the couch and turned on the TV. About 30 minutes later I was starving as I had missed out on breakfast cause of the time me and Mum went to the chiropractors, but since we had just been I was pretty much way too stiff to move to there was only one thing I could do, "Mum mee is Hungie I need munchies" is a bit what it came out in. With in 5 minutes I had a bowl of noodles in front of me, So I was pretty happy that saying that worked.

By the end of the day I was still pretty soar but we had soup for dinner, but the rugby was on that means I got a parent yelling at the TV saying"Go Go, don't pass the ball you idiot" and that sort of thing. So by the end of the day I was pretty wasted but thats a good thing, cause I slept like a rock.

My Weekend

In the weekend I had a lot of mixed feelings at some points I was excited and other points I was sad but most of the time I was really hungry. On saturday I had a game of soccer it was really even, it was 3 all, but my team was having a bad game I think only half of us actually ate our breakfast that day so I was pretty tired from running around after that, as I had actually had my breakfast that day.

When the game was over mum drove me home and I had a shower, but after I had finished my shower I had to start my 24 hours without eating, it was no easy challenge as my dad kept saying "I might have some waffels for dinner" doing this really gave me a hunger for waffels after he had did it for the 10th time. I finished this the first thing I said was "mum can we go out and get some waffels?" her response was a sudden "no", this did make me a little sad.

Homework Challenge

This weekend I have been taking part in the 40hour famine to raise money for hungry children in other countries. The 40 hour famine is pretty much where you do something like going with out food, with technology or even taking a vow of silence, but you have to do this for 40 hours, in my case only 24 hours because of how old I am, and get people to sponsor you in doing this. I chose to go without food for 24 hours, I thought this would be easy cause mum sometimes has to remind me to eat.

This was no easy challenge though because around 5 hours after I had started, at 12:00am on Saturday, I started to crave waffels cause of my dad saying "Oh think I might have some waffles for dinner", this really started make things hard after he did this for about the 10th time.

The only things that I was allowed to have were 1 juice box of Just Juice and 1 barley sugar every hour. From doing this challenge I have learnt how hard and sad it is for all the children who don't have enough food or water and how it means they don't have a lot of energy to do things. I will finnish doing this at 12:00 am today and realize how lucky I am.

Here is a photo of my profile on the 40hour famine website.
You can see I have raised 20 dollars so far towards my 40 dollar goal, with more to come in the next few days.

I wonder why toasters have a setting that will horribly burn your toast that no one will eat

I have had to search to find the answer for this question, it was a hard one but when I found the answer I realized why this is good to have this setting. I found out this setting is used to defrost things that are frozen like bagels waffels and english muffins, also some people do like their toast on the crispy side, I don't but you might. So there you have it thats why they have that setting on your toaster.

Why do we look the way we do and not like something else

Why do we look the way we do and not like something else?

The reason we look the way we do is because of our parents and our grand parents. Some people you may see people that look a lot like their parents, but some people don't. If some dosen't it look like their parents it means they've got their features from some one further down the line in their family tree.

The graveyard

Last Friday my class and I went down to the 16 Ave cemetery. We went there for a statistics investigation. We were put into groups to come up with a question, I was paired with josh and our question was "what year did the most people die in? This was a very interesting thing to do, going down to a cemetery as I have never been into a cemetery before. I was expecting much more zombies than there was.

While we were in the cemetery I saw some lady let her dog go for a walk in the cemetery and it did a poo on a gravestone which is very sad and disrespectful. Before we left we had to wash our hands to ge the tapu off us then we were gone. We will be returning tomorrow.

Homework challenge

A1. Improve your maths ability: Complete a random 10 x 10 grid in under 2 minutes.

Over the last week or so I have been working on this challenge, the first time I did this I took me about 4 minutes, and the more I practiced the better I got at this. By the third time testing me it took me about 3 minutes 23 seconds. Today when I tried I got 1 minute, 56 seconds. This is a great improvement for me I shaved about 3 whole minutes off my first try. As you can see practice does make you perfect.

For my grids my mum did them so that I wouldn't know the answers before I was timed. Some of the grids I found harder than others, which was reflected in the different times I got yet they were still 10 x 10 grids. As you can see practice does make you perfect.

Here are some photos of the girds and my final one with the time I got.

Homework challenge

P6. Walk or run around the waikareao Estuary (or another negotiated walkway) four times with a family member.

Today, 2nd June, I have completed the fourth walk towards this challenge. I was going to head up the Mount, but due to there being a marathon on decided with my mum that it would be better to go back up the Papamoa Hills track. From bottom to top and back again it took me 27 minutes, 18 to get up and 9 to get down, running of course. I possibly could have gone faster but there were a lot of people on the track maybe because the weather was nice and it's a long weekend.

One of the things I have noticed with completing both this challenge and P1 the cycling challenge my fitness over all has improved heaps which has helped with my football. Of the four walks I did the Papamoa Hills walk 3 times and the Waikareao Estuary once, I enjoyed the Waikareao Estuary walk the best because it was the smoothest of them and I enjoyed watching all the crabs scatter as they heard my foot steps.

Here is a photo of me at the start of the Papamoa walk.

Homework challenge

P1. Improve your fitness: Over a 12 week period run or walk at least 60km or cycle 120km.

As you have seen from my earlier posts on this topic I have been cycling to complete 120kms over a 12 week period. After last weekend when my chain broke I was not sure if I would make it in the time line, but my mum got my bike fixed and I have now been able to complete the 120kms with 1 day to spare.

I have cycled the same track to complete this challenge and over this time the city council has been making a new bike track, along the Papamoa reserves, which has made heaps easier complete the task. At the start two sections of the track were all grass and my bike is not a mountain bike, so this made it hard work. Over the weeks these two sections have now been made into a proper track, way to go Tauranga City Council.

Here is the final photo of my graph plotting my progress.
